The Lion Rock, Or Sigiriya

The Lion Rock, or Sigiriya, is another wonderful attraction to climb during your trip to Sri Lanka!

This spectacular rock has a unique shape that can’t be found anywhere else in the world, it is also one of Unesco’s world heritage.

Since this huge rock is very popular among tourists, we have listed a few things to keep in mind if your plan is to visit it.

It’s possible to visit it all year round, but we highly recommend you avoid it during the rainy periods.
Plan your visit as early as possible, otherwise, you will have a hard time dealing with the heat and other tourists.

Bring comfortable shoes and clothes, 1200 steps in pain is not fun!
Make sure to charge your phone and camera to catch the beautiful view from up here.

Adams Peak

To climb Adam’s peak is really a challenge – but at the top, you won’t regret it!

It is called Adam’s peak because, according to old religious stories, this is the first place that Adam set his foot when returning from paradise.

The view from up here is absolutely fantastic, especially if you’re watching it during the sunset.

The season for visiting adam’s peak is from December to May since this is when the road is lit up and food markets are open along the way.

It is located in southwestern Sri Lanka; the Ratnapura District, almost 2 hours away from the villa. But for tourists, it’s recommended to climb it before the sunset at 5 am, so if you want to visit Adam’s peak, make sure to book a hotel closer to the attraction.

Lipton’s Seat is a popular viewpoint located in the highlands of Sri Lanka.

It was named after the very famous Sir Thomas Lipton who owned tea plantations in Sri Lanka – or Ceylon at the time.

To reach the beautiful observation point you have to climb for 7 km surrounded by tea plantations and sometimes people who pluck the tea plants.

Daytrip to Hikkaduwa

Snorkeling in Hikkaduwa coral reef, or exploring the ocean from above with a glass-bottom boat, surfing on the beginner-friendly waves, and visiting the local fruit market – all this at the city Hikkaduwa!

Hikkaduwa is a popular city for both tourists and locals, maybe because of tropical woodland, beautiful beaches, and adventurous activities.

River Safari, Madu Ganga river

This Sri Lankan adventure is located rather close to the Ingels Beach Villa, with a short car ride you will be here.

See everything from baby crocodiles to colorful butterflies and crooked
mangrove trees.

A boat trip on the Madu Ganga River is appropriate for most ages and can be a fun day activity for you and your family!

Mahamodara; A Sea Turtle Farm

Are you looking for a fun and giving day activity in Sri Lanka?

Welcome to Mahamodara; a sea turtle farm where turtles of all ages are being saved and protected from the fishing industry.

Here, tourists are welcome to see and even touch different types of turtles while learning more about their lives and their species.

If you are lucky, the staff will even let you release baby turtles into the water and watch them swim into the big, blue ocean!

This Sri Lankan adventure is suitable for all ages and can be seen as one of the shorter activities. A suggestion is to combine this activity with other activities in Galle.
